They are so dependable and natural-looking that you’ve probably spoken to someone with dentures and didn’t even know it. Do you think you might be a good candidate for dentures? -
Not smoke or use other tobacco products. Tobacco and smoking harm your gum tissue and will quickly disrupt the fit of your denture.
-
Have a healthy jawbone. After you lose a tooth, your jawbone will slowly become thin and less able to support a denture especially an implant-supported denture.
-
Not suffer from dry mouth, as dentures make this condition worse.
-
Be ready to take good care of your dentures at home and with routine cleanings and checkups!
Benefits of Dentures
Our patients in Niagara Falls like how convenient dentures are. Whether you need a full or partial set, they can replace teeth in a non-invasive way. There is no surgical element to worry about, and temporary dentures can be fitted immediately. This provides a quick and easy solution. If, however, you are looking for something that feels more natural, you should consider a cosmetic dentistry procedure.
Alternative Options
Patients in Niagara Falls have been enjoying the benefits of a dentures alternative. There is a procedure that combines implant dentistry with dentures. Those that need complete dentures can benefit by having a secure way to hold their dentures in place. If you live in the area, we will be happy to examine your gums and let you know if you are a good candidate for the procedure. In this scenario, an impression is taken of your mouth in order to create a denture that will be secured in place using implants. Once created, metal posts will be implanted under your gums, and the dentures secured to it. This way patients get the benefits of how quickly dentures can be created and the convenience of the stability that can only come from using implant technology.

Frequently Asked Questions
The dentures that replace all the teeth are known as complete dentures and they rest on the gums that cover the jawbones. The stability and retention of these dentures can be improved by attaching them to dental implants. Dentures that replace some but not all of the teeth are called partial dentures. They attach to the teeth that are still present and also cover and rest on the gums and bone where the teeth are missing.
The cost of dentures will depend on the kind of denture you need and the complexity of your dental care. We will provide you with a quote after your first consultation.
We will provide you with personalized aftercare instructions for your dentures. Here’s a quick reminder: While your dentures are removed, be sure to clean and massage your gums. If your toothbrush hurts your gums, run it under warm water to make it softer or try using a finger wrapped in a clean, damp cloth. If you have partial dentures, brush your natural teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush and floss.
Always remove your dentures overnight to give your mouth a chance to rest. Soak them in warm water with or without denture cleanser. If your dentures have metal clasps, only use warm water for soaking, as other soaking solutions can tarnish the metal. When you’re not wearing your dentures, keep them in water to stop them from drying out or warping. Never use hot water for soaking.
When you first get your dentures you may have to start with soft foods until your mouth becomes accustomed to your new teeth. Some minor irritation may occur during this time. As you get used to your new dentures you can begin introducing more challenging foods back into your diet. Use a knife and fork to start the chewing process for you, chewing slowly using your teeth in the back of your mouth. You may use a small amount of denture adhesive to hold your dentures in place. For a more secure fit, you may consider implant supported dentures.
Your health and comfort are our top priorities. A denture solution that’s right for you might include tooth extractions or dental surgery in preparation for your dentures. All dental care is completed accurately and precisely so you can heal and recovery quickly with as little discomfort as possible. Sedation options are available.
